Appointments
We have listened to patient feedback and developed an appointment system that offers different timescales and clinicians depending upon the urgency and type of the medical problem. Our medical receptionist team will ask for brief details of your medical problem. This confidential information guides the appointment and clinician offered, it also helps the GP to have an explanation of why you are calling.
Our GP and Nurse appointments can be booked by calling 01959 564949 Monday to Friday 8am to 6:30pm. Our blood test appointments can be booked via the NHS App.
How to Cancel an Appointment
Whenever possible please give us at least 2 hours’ notice to be able to offer the appointment to another patient.
Cancellations can be made via the NHS App or by calling 01959 564949. For non-attendance without reason we do operate a ‘Did not attend policy’
For further information please read our did not attend policy

Where to get help when we are closed
Call 999 or go to A&E now if:
- you or someone you know needs immediate help
- you have seriously harmed yourself – for example, by taking a drug overdose
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.
Use NHS 111 if:
- You need help now, but it’s not an emergency
There will be someone to provide you with advice and to direct you to a clinician if it is necessary.
Visit an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC)
Urgent treatment centres provide medical help when it's not a life-threatening emergency. They can diagnose and deal with many of the common problems people go to A&E for.
- Urgent Treatment Centres advise you to call NHS 111 before you travel to make sure you are directed to the most appropriate service for you.
- Urgent Treatment Centres do also offer a walk-in service they are open 8am to 8pm, every day of the year.
To locate the nearest UTC call NHS 111 or Find Urgent Care Services

The service is for minor injuries only please see the Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre website for a list of conditions that are suitable to be seen at the unit.
On the day (acute) emergency GP appointment
We have on the day emergency appointments with our Duty GP. Our medical receptionists will ask you details of your problem as this helps the GP to prioritise by clinical need of the emergency appointments. A triage telephone appointment will be booked for you as the GP may be able to resolve the problem over the telephone or by a video consultation or they may ask you to come in for a face to face appointment.
Our receptionists will suggest to you a two-hour time slot when you can expect the GP to phone, the GP will only call twice and it is important that you are able to take the call. Sometimes emergencies happen in practice that mean that GP's may telephone earlier or later than the time slot given.
If you need an emergency appointment please telephone as early as possible on the day, telephone lines open at 8am.
One week telephone GP appointments
For patients who have an urgent need to be seen but don’t require an emergency same day appointment we offer 1/3rd of our appointments within a 7 day period with all our GP's, please telephone after 10am for a one week appointment.
The appointment will be telephone triage whenever possible with your normal GP. When you speak to your GP you will discuss together what would be best and if you and the doctor agree that a face-to-face consultation is right the GP will arrange that for you.
Routine or Follow up GP Appointments with your normal GP within 14 days
Routine appointments are suitable for patients with non-urgent needs and for those requiring ongoing treatment.
These appointments are available to book up to 2 weeks in advance by telephoning the practice. Sometimes you may want to speak to your usual GP for advice but do not need to necessarily see them. You can book a routine appointment for your GP to ring you during normal surgery hours which saves you having to come into the surgery.
Nurse Appointments
To arrange an appointment with one of our nurses please telephone our reception team who will know how long each appointment will take and can book the correct appointment for you.
To book an appointment with our phlebotomists this can be done by calling the practice or using the NHS App.
Housebound Patients (Home Visits)
Please be aware that our receptionist will ask you for brief details of your illness in order to help the doctors assess your priority on their rounds.
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30am.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby.
Fitness Certificates (Sickness certificates)
An appointment can be booked with our Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to discuss a fitness certificate or the form can be completed on our Sickness Certificate.
